Manuel Hernandez

Senior Advisor

Manuel thrives at the intersection of culture, communications, inclusion, and social impact. He helps organizations grow their mission, shape their brand and create people-centric experiences, products, and content.

He has helped build new teams, functions, and organizations for more than twenty-five years, developing a sense of belonging and common purpose. Between 2015 and 2020, he helped grow Livongo from 50 to 600 employees, going through two M&As, and an IPO. There, Manuel built the Learning & Development and Workplace functions from scratch and was Head of Diversity & Inclusion, Recognition, and Volunteering initiatives.

Between April 2020 and March 2021, he was VP of People and Culture at Tidepool. Before Livongo, he served as President of the Diabetes Hands Foundation (DHF), a nonprofit he co-founded, driven by the belief that no one living with diabetes should feel alone. Under his leadership, DHF became a global leader in diabetes social media, and a highly influential group in diabetes advocacy, with an annual reach of 3 million people through TuDiabetes.org and EsTuDiabetes.org, the NGO’s two flagship programs. Manuel is an Electrical Engineer from Venezuela, with a Masters degree from Cornell University.
