The San Francisco Make Mine a Million $ Business event recently announced this year’s contest winners. The ten chosen were selected from a wide pool of businesswomen with hopes of growing their business’ revenue to 1 million dollars and beyond. The winners will receive business coaching and a cash award, as well as the opportunity to network with the thousands of women who have participated in the Count Me in for Women’s Economic Independence program.

Since 2005, the series has portrayed quantities of waste through different mediums to represent the considerable impact of we humans are recklessly inflicting on the earth, particularly its natural resources.

Water, Rivers and People: Exhibition Opening Reception and Panel Discussion

WRP_exhibition Artists and Activists: A Dialogue about Water and Human Rights Photographers Robert Dawson and Roberto Bear Guerra – both featured in the exhibition – will discuss the artist’s experience and unique role in highlighting the connection between rivers, dams and human rights. They will be joined by Steve Rothert, California Director of American Rivers, and Aviva Imhof, Campaigns Director of International Rivers, activists on the front lines of the struggle for healthy rivers and human rights in California and around the world. This conversation will be moderated by Patrick McCully, Executive Director of International Rivers.
