Last night Marcy Cravat and I arrived in majestic Salt Lake City for several events surrounding the premier of Angel Azul! Tonight we launch Marcy’s film Angel Azul into the world after 2 years of hard work and dedication by our families, supporters, donors, staff and interns.
The Utah Film Center and the Center’s Founder, Geralyn White Dreyfous will host Angel Azul in Salt Lake City. The Center was founded by Geralyn to bring free films to the citizens of Utah. Reaching over 38,000 film lovers annually and emphasizing social content and artistic excellence, the Utah Film Center presents the best documentary, independent, and dramatic cinema year-around to communities throughout Utah.
We are so fortunate to have the Utah Film Center’s support and the opportunity to spend time with Geralyn before she heads of to the Academy Awards. She is the Executive Producer of the film The Square, which is nominated for best documentary this year. Geralyn’s producing credits include the Academy Award winning Born Into Brothels; Emmy nominated The Day My God Died; and multiple film festival winners such as Kick Like a Girl, In A Dream, Dhamma Brothers, Project Kashmir, Miss Representation, Connected and The Invisible War. She recently was awarded honors by the International Documentary Association for her incredible body of work and her support of women in film.
